Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the value of serum latex agglutination test for diagnosing pulmonary cryptococcosis, ao as to provide an evidence for clinical early diagnosis.
METHODS CNKI, Wanfang, VIP and CBM databases were searched for relevant articles about diagnosis of pulmonary cryptococcosis using serum latex agglutination test published before Aug.2015. QUADAS items were used to assess the quality of the eligible studies. Heterogeneity and meta-analysis were performed by using Disc 1.4 software. Stata 12.0 was used to assess potential publication bias by Deek's funnel plot.
RESULTS Seven articles were finally included in the meta-analysis. The results of meta-analysis were as follows: sensitivity was 0.81, specificity was 0.99, positive likelihood rate was 63.8, negative likelihood rate was 0.22, diagnostic odds ratio was 343.74, the AUS of SROC was 0.997 and the Q index was 0.982.
CONCLUSION The diagnostic sensitivity and specificity of serum latex agglutination test were high for pulmonary cryptococcosis. This method could be used as an early and rapid diagnostic method for pulmonary cryptococcosis.
