Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To analyze the influence of edaravone on serum protein metabolism and cerebrospinal fluid in patients with viral encephalitis, so as to provide references for clinical researches.
METHODS A total of 120 patients with viral encephalitis from Mar. 2013 to Oct. 2015 were selected, and divided into observation group and control group by random number table method, with 60 cases in each group. Patients in control group were given conventional antiviral therapy, and patients in observation group were also given edaravone treatment. The differences of serum protein metabolism and cerebrospinal fluid were compared two weeks later. The data were analyzed by SPSS 17.0.
RESULTS The total effective rate in observation group was 98.3%, which was higher than 88.3% in control group. The difference was significant (
P<0.05). The headaches disappear time, vomiting disappear time and consciousness turnaround time in observation group were (4.43±1.51)d, (2.72±1.09)d, and (5.13±1.76)d, respectively, which were lower than those in control group. The differences were significant (
P<0.05).
CONCLUSION Antiviral treatment combined edaravone can obviously improve the clinical curative effect, effectively reduce the brain injury, improve brain function, and promote patients recover in patients with viral encephalitis.
