Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To explore and compare the clinical effect of two ways of treatment: conventional and optimized treatment in children with secretory otitis media, so as to provide reference for the effective treatment of children with secretory otitis media.
METHODS In the two treatement interventions, a total of 104 children with secretory otitis media admitted to Tangshan workers’ hospital from Jan. 2017 to Dec. 2018 were retrospective(1:1) randomly selected as the study objects, and divided into treatment group A and treatment group B, with 52 cases in each group. Both groups were given routine nursing intervention. Group A received conventional treatment, simply gave tympanic membrane catheterization. Group B received optimized treatment, adenoidectomy combined with tympanic membrane catheterization. The effective rate of treatment, postoperative infection rate of incision and postoperative recurrence rate were used as evaluation indexes to compare and analyze the clinical treatment effect of the two groups.
RESULTS The total effective rate of group B was significantly better than that of group A(
P=0.029), and the postoperative infection rate(0%, 0/52) was significantly lower than that of the group A(11.54%, 6/52),(
P=0.012). There was no significant difference in the recurrence rate at 3 months after operation between the two groups(
P=0.310), but the recurrence rate at 6 and 12 months after operation in group B was significantly lower than that in group A(
P<0.05).
CONCLUSION Compared with the conventional treatment(tympanic membrane catheterization and conventional nursing measures), adenoidectomy combined with tympanic membrane catheterization and targeted nursing measures had a better clinical effect on pediatric secretory otitis media, with a higher effective rate, and can effectively reduce the postoperative infection and recurrence in patients, which can be widely used in the future clinical treatment.
