Abstract: OBJECTIVE To investigate the use of antibiotics so as to provide guidance for reasonable clinical use of antibiotics. METHODS The data of use of antibiotics in Zhejiang Traditional Chinese Hospital were retrospectively analyzed during the period of 2012-2014; the sum of purchased drugs, order of DDDs, and Barrett distributive law were observed, and the statistical analysis of all the data was performed with the use of SPSS 13.0 software. RESULTS During the three years, the oral administration of antibiotics was dominant, the DDDs was more than 75.00%, and the use amount was less than 23.00%.According to the classification of the antibiotics, the cephalosporins were the highest in the number of types of antibiotics, use amount, and DDDs; the deep antifungal drugs and carbapenems were the highest in the daily cost.According to the single type of antibiotic, the types of antibiotics ranking the top 10 daily cost belonged to the special use class, and the daily cost of the antibiotics with high DDDs was relatively low.The Barrett distributive law indicated that 8 kinds of class A drugs accounted for 13% among the varieties of drugs and 50% among the purchase amount, 13-14 kinds of class B drugs accounted for 12%-23% among the varieties of drugs and 32%-35% among the purchase amount, and 38-40 kinds of class C drugs accounted for 63%-65% among the varieties of drugs and 15%-18% among the purchase amount; the major class A drugs were the high-grade varieties of drugs with high daily cost. CONCLUSION The use of drugs is basically reasonable in the hospital, and it is urgent to take interventions to the use of class A drugs so as to facilitate the reasonable medication.
