Abstract: OBJECTIVE To investigate the curative effect of Xuan Bai Cheng Qi Tang and mirabilite combined with pulse high-volume hemofiltration (PHVHF) in treatment of patients with severe acute pancreatitis (SAP), in order to provide references for clinical treatment of SAP. METHODS A total of 13 SAP cases were selected from Jan. 2015 to Oct. 2015 in hospital intensive medicine department. On the basis of conventional western medicine treatment, the patients were given Xuan Bai Cheng Qi Tang and mirabilite, enema and external, and then combined with PHVHF therapy.The changes of life signs, abdominal symptoms, blood biochemical indexes, blood gas analysis, acute physiology and chronic health conditions and APACHEII score and Ranson score before and after the treatment of patients were observed. RESULTS The body temperature, heart rate and respiratory rate of patients were significantly relieved than those before treatment(P<0.05). The hemodynamics of the survival of 12 patients were stable, and the average arterial pressures were (42±3) and (74±7)mmHg, which were significantly increased after treatment(P<0.05). The serum levels of alanine aminotransferase, serum amylase and total bilirubin were significantly decreased after treatment(P<0.05). The arterial oxygen partial pressure, arterialcarbon dioxide partial pressure and oxygenation index were significantly higher than those before treatment(P<0.05). CONCLUSION The clinical effects of Xuan Bai Cheng Qi Tang and mirabilite combined with PHVHF in treatment of patients with severe acute pancreatitis is significant, which can be used as one of the methods in treatment of SAP.
