Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To investigate the disinfection effect of 2% chlorhexidine gluconate skin disinfectant on human carrying natural bacteria, pathogenic bacteria and irritation effect on the skin, so as to explore its use in the preoperative skin disinfection.
METHODS According to the relevant test methods in the 2002 edition of the technical standard for disinfection of the Ministry of Health, the disinfectant microbial killing experiment of 2% chlorhexidine gluconate was carried out to obtain the killing effect of the samples on common pathogenic bacteria of human body, and the skin simulated field test experiment was used to obtain the killing effect of the samples on surface bacteria of human body. The adverse reaction to the subjects' hand skin experiment was carried out, so as to explore the evaluation in terms of skin irritation.
RESULTS After 3 times of parallel experiments, liquid neutralizer group 1 and 2 had no bacteria, the 3 to 5 groups had similar colony number, neutralizer group 1 with chlorhexidine gluconate content of 500 mg/L had no colony growth, and group 2 and 5 had bacteria growth, and less in group 2. Using disinfectant solution for three kinds of pathogens for 0.5 min, the average killing logarithm was > 5.00. Rubbing for skin surface for disinfection for 1 min, the average killing logarithm on the surface of the skin natural bacteria was 2.04 (1.85-2.85). Skin stimulation experiments showed that samples had a good effect in reducing stimulation sense by ethanol disinfectants.
CONCLUSION The 2% chlorhexidine gluconate has good disinfection effects on human carrying natural bacteria and pathogenic bacteria, and can obviously reduce the stimulation to the skin, so it can be used for preoperative skin disinfection.
