Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To investigate the characteristics of change of drug susceptibility of pathogens isolated from Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center so as to provide guidance for the clinical treatment.
METHODS From 2009 to 2015, the submitted specimens from the clinical departments were retrospectively investigated, then the pathogens were identified by using VITEK-32 microorganism identification system of BioMérieux, France, the drug susceptibility testing was performed, and the result was analyzed with the use of EXCEL8.0 software.
RESULTS From 2009 to 2015, the drug susceptibility of some species of pathogens showed a downward trend, the drug susceptibility of the
Acinetobacter baumannii showed the greatest decline, the drug susceptibility of
Pseudomonas aeruginosa and
A.baumannii to imipenem reached the lowest value in 2011, 2012 and subsequently showed an upward trend. Some species of pathogens, such as
Klebsiella pneumoniae,
Enterococcus spp, and
fungi, showed relatively stable drug susceptibility. The drug susceptibility of the
P.aeruginosa to gentamycin and levofloxacin, drug susceptibility of the
Staphylococcus spp to moxifloxacin and gentamycin, and drug susceptibility of
Streptococcus spp to levofloxacin showed upward trends.
CONCLUSION The change trend of drug susceptibility of the pathogens isolated from the cancer center shows diversity; the drug susceptibility to some antibiotics shows a upward trend or reveal to upward trend again after reaching the lowest value, which may be related to the control measures for use of antibiotics.
