Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To investigate the influence of varicella infection in pregnant women on neonate, so as to provide evidence for delay in delivery of pregnant women.
METHODS From Dec. 2011 to Jan. 2016, 84 neonates admitted to Children's Hospital of Hangzhou, whose mother developed varicella infection in the last 3 weeks before accouchement, were enrolled in this retrospective study. According to their mothers' varicella infection times, all patients were assigned to < 1 week group (n=52) or ≥1 week (n=32). The clinical indexes were compared.
RESULTS Of the 84 neonates, 48 cases developed varicella infection, with the infection rate of 57.14%. All patients were cured. Compared with ≥ 1 week group, neonates in the <1 week group got a significantly higher rate of varicella infection, and higher rate of severe varicella infection, with significant differences (
P<0.05).
CONCLUSION The shorter from varicella infection to accouchement time in pregnant women, the higher rate of varicella infection rate in neonates.
