Abstract:
This review summarized the epidemiology and resistant mechanisms of carbapenem-resistant
Enterobacteriaceae(CRE). Since 1980s, carbapenem antibiotics had been regarded as the most effective therapeutic agents for multidrug-resistant gram-negative bacteria. But since 1996, when it was found in America, the CRE seriously affected public health. Carbapenem-resistance was mainly caused by acquired carbapenemases, as well as the expression of efflux pump and the deletion or downregulation of porin. This paper mainly reviewed the carbapenem-resistant mechanisms.
