Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To analyze the clinical effect of acupuncture combined with modified eight powder on urinary tract infections complicated with acute urinary retention.
METHODS A total of 89 cases of patients with urinary tract infections complicated with acute urinary retention from Feb. 2012 to Mar. 2015 in the hospital were selected as the research objects, and were randomly divided into control group (44 cases) and observation group (45 cases). Patients in control group were treated with conventional western medicine, and in observation group were treated with acupuncture combined with eight powder based on control group, and both groups were treated for two weeks. The clinical efficacy of the two groups of patients were observed, and the changes of clinical symptom scores and urine related indexes before and after treatment were compared.
RESULTS The scores of urination frequency, rush urination, painful urination, acute fatigue, lumbar pain, and abdominal bulge in control group after treatment were lower than those before treatment (
P<0.05), and the scores of above indexes (except for urination frequency) in observation group were significantly better than those in control group after treatment (
P<0.05). After treatment, the cure rate of control group was 36.36%, the total effective rate was 79.55%, and the cure rate of observation group was 48.89%, the total effective rate was 93.33%, and the cure rate and total effective rate of observation group were significantly higher than those of control group (
P<0.05). The urine white blood cell count and midstream urine culture cell number of observation group after treatment were (20.13±6.80) /HP and (1011.20±31.60) cfu/mL, which were significantly higher than (46.40±10.20)/HP and (1321.30±45.60)cfu/mL of control group (
P<0.05).
CONCLUSION Acupuncture combined with eight powder can effectively improve the clinical symptoms of urinary tract infections in patients with acute urinary retention, and improve clinical efficacy.
