Abstract:
OBJECTIVE By comparing the the cleaning and disinfection rate of medical equipment difference of pre- and post- quality control circle applied to the cleaning link quality control in sterilization and supply center to discuss the importance of application of quality control circle in quality control of cleaning and disinfection process.
METHODS The qualified rates of medical equipment recycling, classification, cleaning, disinfection, drying, package, sterilization, storage and issuing, and the incidence of nosocomial infections between from Jan. 2015 to Aug. 2015 before the application of quality control circle (control group) and from Sept. 2015 to Apr. 2016 after the application of quality control circle (experimental group) were compared.
RESULTS The qualified rates of medical equipment recycling, classification, cleaning, disinfection, drying, package, sterilization, storage and issuing were 94.50%, 93.86%, 94.93%, 94.43%, 95.07%, 95.14%, 94.43%, 93.71% and 94.43% in control group, which were lower than 98.21%, 97.79%, 99.29%, 98.86%, 99.14%, 99.36%, 98.14%, 96.79% and 98.14% in experimental group. The differences were significant(
P<0.05). The differences in qualified rates of gear and coupling equipment, non-gear and non-coupling equipment, and combination equipment between the two groups were significant (
P<0.05). In addition to other type of equipment, the qualified rates of equipments between the two groups were significant (
P<0.05). The nosocomial infection rates was 1.30% in control group, which was significantly lower than 4.10% in control group (
P< 0.05).
CONCLUSION Application of quality control circle in quality control of cleaning and disinfection process in sterilization and supply center, can increase the quelified rates of medical equipment recycling, classification, cleaning, disinfection, drying, packaging, sterilization, storage and issuing, and reduce the nosocomial infection rate.
