Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To investigate the effect of Xiaochaihu Granule on serum cystatin C and procalcitonin levels in patients with severe systemic infections and acute kidney injury.
METHODS A total of 56 patients with severe systemic infections and acute renal injury admitted to our hospital from Jun. 2011 to Sep. 2015 were selected, and were randomly divided into control group (n=28) and study group (n=28). The control group was treated with continuous hemofiltration, and the study group was treated with Xiaochaihu granule on the basis of control group, with 7d for a course of treatment. The SOFA score and APACHE score were evaluated before and after treatment, serum acute inflammation, organ function and immune function indexes were determined. Patients were followed up for 28 days, and 28d mortality and adverse reactions were compared.
RESULTS After treatment, levels of SOFA scores, APACHEⅡ scores, serum PCT, CRP, TNF-α, IL-6, CysC and Scr in study group were (5.36±1.02), (11.07±3.14), (4.79±1.10)ng/mL, (58.61±12.41)mg/L, (8.67±2.78)μg/L, (15.34±4.67)μg/L, (1.98±0.63)mg/L and (87.62±20.34)μmol/L, which were lower than in control group(
P<0.05), and levels of CD
3+T, CD
4+T, CD
8+T in study group were (63.59±8.27)%,(32.69±4.25)% and (24.35±3.96)%, which were higher than (
P<0.05). There was no difference between the two groups of adverse reactions and mortality rate.
CONCLUSION The curative effect of Xiaochaihu granules on acute renal injury in patients with severe systemic infection is satisfactory, which can reduce the content of inflammatory mediators and improve the perfusion of tissues and organs.
