Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To investigate the related risk factors of senile urinary tract infections, so as to provide evidence for the control of urinary tract infections in elderly patients.
METHODS A total of 137596 cases of patients with urinary tract infections from Jan. 2014 to Dec. 2016 were selected as research objects. Risk factors associated with urinary catheter related urinary tract infections in elderly patients were analyzed.
RESULTS A total of 137596 hospitalized patients were monitored, including 38602 patients aged 60 years and above accounting for 28.05% of the total number of hospitalized patients. There were 934 cases of nosocomial infections, and the rate of nosocomial infections was 2.42%. There were 564 cases of urethral catheterization in patients aged 60 years and above, accounting for 1.46%.The total day of intubation was 8070 days. There were 50 patients of urinary catheter related urinary tract infections, with thousand-day infection rate of 6.20‰. Time of indwelling urinary catheter, time of hospitalization, types of antimicrobial drug, and the time of ICU days were risk factors for the occurrence of senile urinary tract infections with indwelling catheter (
P<0.05).
CONCLUSION Effective prevention and control intervention can shorten the total number of intubation days, and rational use of antibiotics can reduce the incidence of urinary system infections in the elderly patients indwelling catheter.
