Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To investigate the values of dual source CT on the diagnosis of solitary nodule cryptococcosis.
METHODS A total of 8 patients with pathological findings with solitary nodular manifestations of cryptococcosis under dual source CT in the hospital from Jan. 2013 to Dec. 2017 were retrospectively analyzed. The CT imaging features of nodular cryptococcal disease and other idetification methods of other common pulmonary solitary nodules were analyzed.
RESULTS Among 8 cases of solitary nodular cryptococcosis, the focus of infection of six cases were on the lower lung lobes, including four cases on the lower right lung lobe and two cases on the lower left lung lobe, and two cases were on the upper lung lobes. CT enhanced examination found 5 cases of moderation enhancement. There were 2 cases of long spiculation, 4 cases of calcification, 3 cases of pulmonary cavity, and 3 cases of pleural indentation. The CT images of solitary nodular cryptococcus had different imaging characteristics and clinical manifestations when compared to other common pulmonary nodules.
CONCLUSION The images of dual source CT of solitary nodule cryptococcosis have certain imaging features, and paying attention to the imaging performance is beneficial to its detection.
