Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To study the panton-valentine leucocidin (PVL),MecA and five superantigen enterotoxins genotypes (SEs) in
Staphylococcus aureus strains and analyze their correlation.
METHODS A total of 206 strains of non-repetitive
S.aureus were isolated from Wenzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from Jan 2012 to Feb 2017, and totally 17 strains were tested positive for PVL. The five SEs (SEA, SEB, SEC, SED, SEE)in the 17 strains of PVL-positive
S.aureus and 32 strains of PVL-negative
S.aureus that were randomly collected were detected by using PCR.
RESULTS Of the 17 strains of PVL-positive
S.aureus, 10 were detected with SEA, 7 SEB, 7 SEC, 7 SED, 0 SEE. Of the 32 strains of PVL-negative
S.aureus,17 were detected with SEA, 2 SEB, 5 SEC, 1 SED, 11 SEE; there were significant differences in the detection rates of SEB and SEC between the two groups (
P<0.05); there were no significant differences in the detection rates of SEA, SED and SEE. There were no significant differences in the detection rates of the five SEs between the PVL-positive methicillin-resistant
S.aureus (MRSA) strains and the PVL-positive methicillin-sensitive
S.aureus (MSSA) strains.
CONCLUSION The PVL-positive
S.aureus strains are more likely to be detected with the SEs than the PVL-negative strains; SEB and SEC are more common in the PVL-positive
S.aureus strains.
