Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To explore the effect of early rehabilitation management on the patients undergoing laparoscopic appendectomy so as to provide evidence-based guidance for improvement of effect of postoperative rehabilitation.
METHODS A total of 520 patients who received the laparoscopic appendectomy in the hospital from Jan 2014 to May 2017 were enrolled in the study and randomly divided into the control group with 260 cases and the observation group with 260 cases. The control group was treated with conventional nursing, while the observation group was given additional early rehabilitation management on basis of the conventional nursing. The postoperative rehabilitation indexes and perioperative complications were compared between the two groups of patients; the immune function, pain and activities of daily living were observed before and after the intervention.
RESULTS The defecation time, anal exhaust time, bedridden time, time of recovery of bowel sound and length of hospital stay were significantly shorter in the observation group than in the control group(
P<0.05). The incidence rates of perioperative incision infection and incision hemorrhage of the observation group were respectively 1.92% and 3.08%, significantly lower than 10.38% and 12.31% of the control group (
P<0.05). The levels of CD
3+ and CD
4+/CD
8+ of the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group after the intervention, while the CD
8+ level of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group (
P<0.05). The score of visual analogue scale (VAS) of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group after the intervention, the score of activities of daily living scale (ADLS) of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group (
P<0.05).
CONCLUSIONS The early rehabilitation management can effectively prevent perioperative incision infection in the patients undergoing laparoscopic appendectomy, shorten the rehabilitation time, boost the immune function of the patients, alleviate the pain and improve the ability of daily living activities.
