Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To preliminarily analyze and explore the antifungal effect of 8-(N,N-dimethyl-amine methyl)-baicalin so as to expand the application range.
METHODS Totally 3 species of standard fungal strains and 2 species of clinical fungal strains were chosen as the tested strains so as to determine the inhibition zone diameters of 8-(N,N-dimethyl-amine methyl)-baicalin, baicalin and itraconazole.
RESULTS The 3 types of drugs had certain antifungal effects on the tested strains. The inhibition zone diameters of 8-(N,N-dimethyl-amine methyl)-baicalin were significantly greater than those of baicalin on the standard strains and clinical isolated strains of
Candida albican and
Cryptococcus neoformans (
P<0.05). The inhibition zone diameters of 8-(N,N-dimethyl-amine methyl)-baicalin were significantly greater than those of itraconazole on the clinical isolated strains of
C.albican and
C.neoformans (
P<0.05). The inhibition zone diameter of 8-(N,N-dimethyl-amine methyl)-baicalin was significantly less than that of itraconazole on standard strains of Candida krusei (
P<0.05).
CONCLUSION The antifungal effect of 8-(N,N-dimethyl-amine methyl)-baicalin is obviously better than that of baicalin on the standard strains and clinical isolated strains of
C.albican and
C.neoformans; the antifungal effect of 8-(N,N-dimethyl-amine methyl)-baicalin is better than that of itraconazole on the clinical strains of
C.albican and
C.neoformans; the antifungal effect of 8-(N,N-dimethyl-amine methyl)-baicalin is less than that of itraconazole on the standard strains of
C.krusei.
