Abstract: Flexible endoscopes play an important role in the prevention, diagnosis,and treatment of diseases,however,endoscopy-associated infections outbroke from time to time. Flexible endoscopes are reusable sophisticated medical devices,their thermolabile nature and complex design demand a specialized decontamination approach.Reprocessing of flexible endoscopes and accessories in strict accordance with the guidance of manufacturer and professional organization is an essential part of patient safety and quality assurance. This article introduces the update of guidelines for flexible endoscopes reprocessing in China and other countries,this could help health care facility management personnels and reprocessing staffs to implement guidelines,effectively prevent nosocomical infection,and guarantee the personal safety of patients and staffs.
