Abstract: OBJECTIVE To understand the status of health care workers' implementing the Regulation for Cleaning and Disinfection Technique of Flexible Endoscope (WS507-2016), hereinafter referred to as the Regulation, in China by means of self-investigation and self-evaluation. METHODS By means of questionnaire survey, the questionnaires were pushed to the health care workers through networks so as to understand their implementation of the Regulation during the endoscopic diagnosis and treatment as well as retreatment. RESULTS Totally 991 pieces of valid questionnaires were recycled and divided into four categories according to the Regulation, the rate of implementation of management-related requirements ranged between 79.71% and 97.98%, the rate of implementation of the requirements for layout, facilities and equipment ranged between 1.82% and 94.95%, the rate of implementation of cleaning and disinfection procedures ranged between 28.86% and 95.26%, and the rate of implementation of monitoring and recording ranged between 6.36% and 89.51%. CONCLUSION There is still a gap after the Regulation is carried out in Chinese medical institutions for one year. The self-investigation and reporting may objectively reflect the actual situation of implementation of the Regulation in clinical institutions and indicates that the training, education and supervision of the Regulation needs to be further intensified and improved.
