Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To explore the effect of a domestic one-yuan compound peracetic acid disinfectant on disinfection and sterilization of gastrointestinal endoscopes and observe the economic costs.
METHODS The gastrointestinal endoscopes that were used for 800 case times by the patients in the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University from Aug 2019 to Dec 2019 were enrolled in the study, 500 cases times of which were used for disinfection experiment, and 300 case times were used for sterilization experiment. The gastrointestinal endoscopes that were used for disinfection experiment were randomly divided into two groups and were respectively disinfected with one-yuan compound peracetic acid disinfectant and O-phthalaldehyde disinfectant. The gastrointestinal endoscopes that were used for sterilization experiment were randomly divided into three groups and were respectively treated with one-yuan compound peracetic acid disinfectant soaking, low temperature sterilization with ethylene oxide and hydrogen peroxide low temperature plasma sterilization. The effects of disinfection and sterilization were determined on basis of industry standard WS507-2016 "Technical Specification for Cleaning and Disinfection of Flexible Endoscopes".
RESULTS As compared with the effect of disinfection, the qualified rates of one-yuan compound peracetic acid disinfectant and O-phthalaldehyde disinfectant were respectively 96.80% and 96.00%, without pathogenic microorganisms being detected, and there was no significant difference. The cost of single piece of disinfection of the one-yuan compound peracetic acid disinfectant was less than that of the O-phthalaldehyde disinfectant. As compared with the effect of sterilization, the qualified rates of the one-yuan compound peracetic acid disinfectant, the low temperature sterilization with ethylene oxide and the hydrogen peroxide low temperature plasma sterilization were respectively 98.00%, 99.00% and 100.00%, without pathogenic microorganism being detected, and there was no significant difference. The time of sterilization of the one-yuan compound peracetic acid disinfectant was the shortest, with the cost of sterilization of single piece of endoscope the lowest.
CONCLUSION The one-yuan compound peracetic acid disinfectant can achieve favorable effect on disinfection and sterilization, with the economic cost low, the time of sterilization short, and it is suitable for the hospitals with long cycle of sterilization and insufficient turnover of quantity.
