Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To explore the drug resistance of the children with Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia and analyze the values of serum micro ribonucleic acid (miR)-126, miR-155 and long non-coding RNA growth inhibition factor 5 (LncRNA GAS5) in prediction of the severity of diseases.
METHODS A total of 82 children with M.pneumoniae infection who were treated in Nantong Maternal and Child Health Hospital from Jan. 2022 to Sep. 2023 were assigned as the case group, meanwhile, 98 healthy children who received physical examination were chosen as the control group. The children of the case group were divided into the mild group with 57 cases and the moderate and severe group with 25 cases according to the severity of disease. The drug resistance of M.pneumoniae was analyzed, the levels of serum miR-126, miR-155 and LncRNA GAS5 were compared among the case group, the control group, the moderate and severe group and the mild group. The predictive values of the indexes were analyzed.
RESULTS The drug resistance rates of the 82 strains of M.pneumoniae to azithromycin and acetylspiramycin were higher. The levels of serum miR-126 and miR-155 of the case group were higher than those of the control group(P < 0.05), the levels of the above indexes of the moderate and severe group were higher than those of the mild group(P < 0.05); the LncRNA GAS5 level of the case group was lower than that of the control group(P < 0.05), and the level of the above index of the moderate and severe group was lower than that of the mild group(P < 0.05). The area under curve (AUC) of the joint detection of serum miR-126, miR-155 and LncRNA GAS5 was higher than that of the single detection in diagnosis of the severity of disease of the children with M.pneumoniae infection(P < 0.05), and the sensitivity of the joint detection was 84.00%, the specificity 94.74%.
CONCLUSIONS The children with M.pneumoniae infection are relatively resistant to azithromycin and acetylspiramycin and show the high expressions of serum miR-126, mirR-155 and the low expression of LncRNA GAS5. The change of expressions of three indexes is closely associated with the severity of disease of the children with M.pneumoniae infection. The joint detection of the three indexes has high value in prediction of the severity of disease of the children with M.pneumoniae.
