Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To compare the effects of traditional and new-fashioned custom-made cleaning baskets on the cleaning and disinfection of instrument tray in central sterile supply department.
METHODS According to the actual needs and the operating procedures of spray cleaning machine, the traditional instrument cleaning basket was improved to be custom-made basket with screen. Totally 600 contaminated instrument trays from the Disinfection Supply Center in the First Medical Center of the PLA General Hospital in Mar. 2024 were collected and randomly divided into the study group for custom-made cleaning basket with screen and the control group for the traditional cleaning basket. Visual inspection, light source magnifying glass and ATP bioluminescence detection methods were used to detect and compare the cleanliness of the surfaces, inner corners and edge grooves of the instrument trays of two groups.
RESULTS ATP bioluminescence detection showed that the cleaning effect of the new cleaning basket was better than that of the traditional basket (P < 0.05); the pass rate of surface (91.33%), inner corner (89.00%) and edge groove (86.33%) in the study group were higher than those in the control group (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSION Compared with the traditional cleaning basket, the new special basket can significantly improve the cleaning effect and the pass rate, to raise the work efficiency.
