Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To integrate the optimal evidence for gastrointestinal endoscope reprocessing procedures based on an evidence-based approach.
METHODS A systematic search was conducted in both Chinese and English databases as well as guideline websites for evidence related to gastrointestinal endoscope reprocessing, covering the period from the establishment of the databases to Mar. 31, 2025. Two researchers independently screened the literature, assessed quality, and extracted evidence, and then collaboratively synthesized and summarized the evidence based on the topic and evidence-based group.
RESULTS A total of 18 papers were included, including 9 guidelines, 3 expert consensuses, 2 systematic reviews, 1 group standard, 1 meta-analysis, 1 position statement and 1 technical specification. Ultimately, 28 pieces of evidence were extracted from the seven key steps of gastrointestinal endoscope reprocessingpretreatment, cleaning, rinsing, disinfection (sterilization), final rinsing, drying and storage.
CONCLUSION This study integrates the optimal evidence on gastrointestinal endoscope reprocessing procedures, providing an evidence-based basis for clinical practice.
