Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To analyze the types, distribution, and causes of nosocomial infections in nursing care in postanesthesia care unit (PACU) so as to put forward the prevention and control measures from the perspective of nursing.
METHODS The clinical data of 10000 patients who received anesthesia for surgery from May 2014 to Apr 2016 were retrospectively analyzed, then the characteristics, types, and causes of the infection in the PACU were summarized and analyzed during the nursing period, the multivariate regression analysis was performed for predisposing risk factors for the nosocomial infection in the PACU, and prevention and control countermeasures were put forward.
RESULTS The incidence rate of nosocomial infection was 4.1% in the 10 000 PACU patients who were extracted by using digital double-blind method, the patients with respiratory tract infection accounted for 31.7%, and the patients with urinary tract infection accounted for 24.4%. The younger, older the patients, the higher the incidence rate of nosocomial infection in the PACU patients was. The longer the stay in the PACU, the higher the incidence rate of nosocomial infection was. The less standard aseptic operation and loose disinfection and isolation were the major predisposing factors for the nosocomial infection in the PACU, accounting for 34.2% and 29.3%, respectively.
CONCLUSION The patients of the PACU are prone to nosocomial infection owing to its particularities, which is associated with the loose disinfection and less standard aseptic operation. It is an effective way to intensify the cognition of nosocomial infections, standardize the disinfection and isolation, and cut off the route of infection so as to prevent the nosocomial infections in the PACU and provide guidance for targeted prevention and control of the nosocomial infections.
