Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the clinical data of sepsis patients with chief complaint of fever, analyze the prognosis, and seek for the early warning indicators for poor prognosis.METHODS A total of 81 sepsis patients with chief compliant of fever who were treated in the hospital from Jan 2014 to Jan 2016 were retrospectively analyzed and divided into the good prognosis group with 61 cases and the poor prognosis group with 20 cases according to the prognosis. The clinical data were compared between the two groups of patients, the prognosis was set as the dependent variable, and the logistic regression analysis was performed for the indexes that had between-group difference so as to define the correlation with prognosis.RESULTS Of the 81 sepsis patients,24.69% had the poor prognosis, and there was no significant difference in the age, gender,or body mass index between the two groups. The incidence of pulmonary infections was significantly higher in the poor prognosis group than in the good prognosis group;the level of hemoglobin was significantly lower in the poor prognosis group than in the good prognosis group;the thrombin time was significantly longer in the poor prognosis group than in the good prognosis group(P<0.05).The content of blood lactic acid of the poor prognosis group was significantly higher than that of the good prognosis group. The logisticregression analysis indicated that the level of hemoglobin was negatively correlated with the poor prognosis, and the level of blood lactic acid and thrombin tine were positively correlated with the poor prognosis.CONCLUSION The early warning indicators for the prognosis of the sepsis patients with chief compliant of fever include the hemoglobin, blood lactic acid, and thrombin time;the patients with low hemoglobin level, high blood lactic acid level,or long thrombin time may have the poor prognosis.
