Related factors for nosocomial infections in non-small celllung cancer patients during chemotherapy

  • OBJECTIVE To explore the related factors for nosocomial infections in non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)patients during chemotherapy and strengthen the control of the nosocomial infections.METHODS A total of 137 patients with NSCLC who received the chemotherapy from Jul 2014 to Apr 2015 were recruited as the study objects, then the infection rates and infection sites were investigated, and the univariate chi-square test and multivariate logistic regression analysis were performed to screen out the risk factors.RESULTS The infections occurred in 44 of 137patients with NSCLC,with the infection rate 32.12%.Of the patients with the nosocomial infections,45.45% had lower respiratory tract infections, and 36.36% had upper respiratory tract infections. The multivariate logistic regression analysis indicated that the independent risk factors for the infections in the NSCLC patients undergoing the chemotherapy included the age,TNM stage, chemotherapy drugs, chemotherapy cycle, prophylactic use of antibiotics, use of hormones, neutrophils counts, and CD4/CD8(P<0.05).CONCLUSION The risk factors for the nosocomial infections in the NSCLC patients during the chemotherapy include the age,TNM stage, chemotherapy drugs, chemotherapy cycle, prophylactic use of antibiotics, use of hormones, neutrophils counts, and CD4/CD8.It is necessary to strengthen the monitoring of the patients at high risk of the nosocomial infections during the clinical treatment so as to improve the prognosis of the patients.
