Practice and exploration of undergraduate teaching of nosocomiology in Changzhi medical college from 2006 to 2021

  • OBJECTIVE To explore the contents and methods of nosocomiology education teaching in medical colleges. METHODS By analyzing the characteristics of nosocomial infection and undergraduate teaching in Changzhi Medical College since 2006, the undergraduate teaching of nosocomiology education was officially launched after selecting teaching contents, teaching objects, teaching materials and teachers′team, formulating teaching objectives, teaching semester, curriculum setting and credits.In the teaching practice, the flipped classroom, virtual reality technology and situational simulation teaching method were actively explored, which provided a reference for better promoting the development of undergraduate teaching of nosocomiology. RESULTS Through systematic hospital infection education, medical students had firmly established the concept of hospital infection prevention and control, and improved their self-protection awareness. CONCLUSION Strengthening the teaching of nosocomial infection in undergraduate stage of medical colleges and universities was of great significance for improving the quality of nosocomial infection prevention and control and ensuring medical safety.However, so far, nosocomiology had not been fully included in the formal teaching content of medical colleges and universities, or even included in compulsory courses.Therefore, the development of nosocomiology had been greatly restricted, and the improvement of the discipline also required continuous research and exploration.
