Research progress on umbilical cord blood detection in predicting and diagnosing early neonatal bacterial infection
-
Abstract
Bacterial infectious disease is still an important cause of death of newborns and children under 5 years old. Early prediction and diagnosis are urgent clinical methods to improve prognosis. Early neonatal infection caused by bacterial invasion before and during birth accounts for a large proportion because of the hidden clinical manifestations, rapid progress of the disease, and poor early diagnosis. Detection of infection related indicators in umbilical cord blood, which is a part of fetal blood circulation, can theoretically provide evidence for the prediction and diagnosis of early neonatal bacterial infection. This paper reviews the recent research progress of umbilical cord blood detection in the prediction and diagnosis of early neonatal bacterial infection.
