OBJECTIVE To explore the willingness and influencing factors of hepatitis B vaccine (HepB) and herpes zoster vaccine (HZV) vaccination among healthcare workers at Wuhan Pulmonary Hospital, providing a theoretical basis for effective vaccination promotion.
METHODS In Jan.2025, healthcare workers at Wuhan Pulmonary Hospital were selected for an online questionnaire survey via the Wenjuanxing platform.Data on basic information, vaccination willingness, recommendation willingness and vaccination history were collected.Univariate analysis was conducted through the χ2 test, and multivariate logistic regression was employed to analyze influencing factors of HepB and HZV vaccination willingness.
RESULTS A total of 646 questionnaires were collected, with 626 valid responses (effective rate: 96.90%, 626/646).Among the 626 respondents, the willingness rates for HepB and HZV vaccination were 88.82%(556/626) and 44.41%(278/626), respectively, while the actual vaccination rates were 60.06%(376/626) and 38.10%(16/42).Multivariate logistic regression showed that individuals willing to receive HepB were primarily aged 20-29(OR=5.561, 95%CI: 2.269-13.628), held a bachelor′s degree (OR=4.128, 95%CI: 2.061-8.270) or higher (OR=3.793, 95%CI: 1.676-8.584), had underlying diseases (OR=5.602, 95%CI: 1.247-25.170), or perceived themselves at risk of infection (OR=8.752, 95%CI: 4.084-18.756).Vaccination willingness for HZV was higher among those aged 20-29(OR=3.600, 95%CI: 1.652-7.844) and those with underlying diseases (OR=13.326, 95%CI: 6.068-29.266).
CONCLUSIONS Healthcare workers at Wuhan Pulmonary Hospital exhibit relatively high willingness for HepB vaccination but relatively low willingness for HZV.Younger and highly educated healthcare workers and those with underlying diseases show greater vaccination willingness. It is suggested to strengthen vaccine education, optimize vaccination services and improve recommendation and vaccination rates among healthcare workers.
