Continuous intervention programs on quality control in Beijing hemodialysis centers and their effects

  • OBJECTIVE To analyze the effectiveness of quality control improvements in Beijing hemodialysis centers from 2023 to 2024, providing a basis for optimizing regional hemodialysis quality management.
METHODS In 2023 and 2024, stratified random sampling was employed to select 36(in 2023) and 39(in 2024) hemodialysis centers in Beijing based on hospital levels (tertiary, secondary and primary) for quality control inspections.Specialized training, emergency drills and information construction were implemented as intervention measures to address issues identified in the 2023 quality control inspections. The quality control inspections and improvements in weak aspects were compared between the two years.
RESULTS The overall quality control score increased from (92.12±5.44) to (94.82±3.71)(P=0.016).The non-compliance rate of electronic medical record management decreased from 75.00% to 41.03%(P=0.003), and the defect rate in emergency plans decreased from 22.22% to 5.13%(P=0.030).
CONCLUSIONS Targeted quality improvement interventions can effectively enhance quality control levels. It is necessary to continuously strengthen the information capabilities of primary institutions and the dynamic monitoring mechanisms for hospital-associated infection.
