Progress of research on clinical infection characteristics and drug resistance of Acinetobacter non-baumannii

  • Acinetobacter species are gram-negative bacteria widely present in the natural environment. Acinetobacter non-baumannii (Anb) is generally considered as an environmental bacterium. Anb is not only more likely to colonize the human body but also capable of causing multi-system infections, including bloodstream infections and lower respiratory tract infections. With the widespread application of mass spectrometry identification technology and molecular biology identification methods, the clinical detection rate and infection rate of Anb are on the rise, and the issue of drug resistance is becoming increasingly prominent. This suggests that the clinical community may have underestimated the harm of Anb for a long time. This paper reviews the distribution and identification of Anb, the source of pathogens, the current status of clinical infections, the clinical characteristics of infected populations, the current status of drug resistance, the main resistance mechanisms and resistance genes.
